SERNEC’s Austin Mast (Florida State University) and Anne Basham (Arizona State University) have released iDigBio's Libraries of Life Augmented Reality Cards and Mobile App at iDigBio's Summit V in Arlington, VA, in November. The SERNEC - Thematic Collections Network is excited to announce the release of the first version of the Notes From Nature lesson plan for use in high school classrooms. Dear SERNEC Steering Committee, We are beginning Year 2 of the SERNEC: Key to the Cabinets NSF ADBC project.  This project is large and complicated and I wanted to outline how we intend to use multiple media outlets in order to reach all the project participants.  The project as currently funded involves 93 herbaria in 12 states in the Southeast USA.  Each state lead meets monthly with me and the Project Manager, Michael Denslow, to discuss challenges and opportunities.  We...

The SERNEC Thematic Collections Network (TCN) is a project that will enable the SERNEC group, which includes 93 herbaria, to make data available for over 3 million specimens using the latest photography and information capture tools and to engage citizen scientists and students to assist in transcribing and georeferencing this large dataset.
